performing arts
he house is situated in a typical urban landscape, characterized by the unregulated growth of buildings with little visual coherence. It was designed for a couple engaged in the performing arts, blending functional workspaces seamlessly into the living environment. The house includes areas dedicated to research, archiving, a library, meeting spaces, and facilities for training and education.
lower the ground
Given the extensive program and the need for additional space, it was decided to lower the ground level by nearly two meters to create a third floor below street level. Access to the house is via both a ramp and stairs. Each floor has its own character, tailored to the desired level of privacy. The ground floor, below street level, serves as the most public area, with the building entrance, a multipurpose room, bathrooms, and changing rooms. The second floor, organized in an open layout, is the social zone with dining and living areas, integrated workspaces, and a library. The top floor is the private area, containing three bedrooms and a bathroom.
design seeks simplicity
A central volume runs through the house, structuring each floor and housing the technical spaces, including bathrooms, changing rooms, storage areas, and vertical access points.
The design seeks simplicity, with a clean volumetric relationship to the surroundings. The facades feature an apparently random arrangement of openings, reflecting the functional needs of the interior. A small workshop and storage area, designed with the same aesthetic as the house, is positioned at the end of the plot to support the couple's activities.
